A Novel Comes to Life

“The Lucky One” is now showing!!!

Perhaps, if you’re a fan of the best-selling novelist and screenwriter Nicholas Charles Sparks you would know what I’m talking about.

This movie is the latest novel turned movie among Sparks’ works. Who would forget the tearjerker, “A Walk to Remember” and his first published work and movie, “The Notebook”? He is also the author of popular books such as "Message In A Bottle," "Dear John," and "The Last Song," all of which have been adapted to film.

I have already read the book a year ago and I can still remember the whole story. It’s a nice feeling that what you have read, now comes to life. Plus the ever handsome Zac Efron, I would love to watch this movie soon. This is about finding love and believing in destiny. It also connotes the emotional sufferings a man experiences as a US Marine.

Because of my fascination to Sparks’ books, he is the culprit why my username is like that. J

An Orange Fun

April 9, 2012

It was a holiday for Rolyn “Orange Pulps”, our newest editor-in-chief of the publication. Not because it’s Araw ng Kagitingan but it’s a celebration over her 19 long years of surviving the highs and lows of life. As such, we have surprised her in their house which made us travel about an hour bringing our gifts. Since her most loved color is orange, we shopped for anything but orange stuffs. From chips to sodas, from sponge to plates, and from carrots to real oranges, not to mention an orange-colored pack of panty liners as a present from our now former EIC, Key! J

I know it’s so late to post this one, so I just want to share some of our funny pictures together while waiting for a ride to bring us back to the city.

After these group snapshots, one private cab stopped by and let us ride their vehicle. We're so lucky, we got a discount from that awesome driver! :)

All is well... farewell!

It has been some time since I scribbled into this page. A month has finally passed and the semester ended at last. There’s a new leaf to write on and new experiences to share. Actually, I have already a draft on what I should be blogging this time. But it was full of sadness and despair, and I think it’s not worthy to put into writing since I have already moved on. However, of those times that I am out of the blogosphere, various momentous happenings took place. Allow me to share these comings and goings of my life after I have celebrated my two hundred twenty eight months of journey…

March 31- April 01, 2012 Farewell Party

the TN staff in their prince and princess costumes
We have travelled about thirty minutes from Dumaguete to our destination, the Escosas Bar and Resort in Amlan, Negros Oriental. Six members of our publication have bid farewell as they join to the real world.
the graduates (from left to right): Roroy (Circulation Manager); Mommy Chix (Senior Writer);
Key (Editor-in-Chief) and  Rina (News Editor)
Aside from saying goodbye to these oldies, it was also the oath taking ceremony for the new batch of the Editorial Board which I am apparently part of. I was elected as the Business Manager and making the party possible had been part of my training. Shopping for groceries, marketing, buying food for dinner, and riding back to the city the next day to buy for lunch and snacks was not that easy. Nonetheless, it was a wonderful experience since we got to dress like princesses with all those ball gowns and crowns, as well as wearing make-ups. It looks like having a promenade once again just looking back my high school days.

the new editorial board: Rolynsky (EIC); Alberta (Assoc. Ed.); Jessie (News Ed.);
ME (Business Manager) and  Liting (Assistant BM)
That's ME! :)
it started at 1 am. no wonder, they can't help falling asleep during the program
the sun has risen and we still not ended...
Jollibee takeouts and pizzas for lunch
after lunch... jump shot!!! :)
We also got to enjoy their pool... :)

the continuation on the next post! :)
